Renee Moncada Director Producer Host
Renee is a seasoned writer director and producer with over 15 years experience in Television, Film and Digital formats. As former brand manager for New Orleans rapper, Big Freedia Renee Co-created and Executive Produced the hit docu-series Big Freedia Queen of Bounce seasons 1-6. In 2023 Renee partnered with KPFA radio and The Pacifica Network to host and create The Venus Lounge Podcast, a podcast centered around topics about women of color. Renee received an award for Best Documentary Feature from The San Francisco Black Filmmakers foundation about Oakland rapper Too Short entitled “Life Is” . Renee has developed, pitched and produced shows for HULU, Netflix, Fuse Network, National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, The Military Channel and TLC.
Renee also produced and makes an appearance alongside her son in the musical short “In the Pines” performed by Grammy Award Winning Blues Artist, Fantastic Negrito, the short film is centered around mothers losing their sons to gun violence. Renee is currently in collaboration with The Black Woman is God for the 2023 exhibit and former collaborator for the 2020 Black Woman is God virtual ceremony hosted by The Museum of Modern Art ,
Renee is an active member of Brown Girl Doc Mafia Film (BGDM). Certified member of the National Black Chamber of Commerce and a media consultant for KingMakers of Oakland, a non profit organization dedicated to uplifting African American boys.
